Strider ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Name and email address - provided through Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In
  • Profile picture - either from your sign-in provider or uploaded by you
  • Username and bio - optionally added by you

Run and Activity Data

  • Runs you create - title, date, time, meeting point location, distance, pace, and visibility settings

3. Information Sharing

We share your information in the following circumstances:

With Other Users

Your profile (name, photo, username, bio) is visible to other Strider users. When you join a run, other participants can see that you're joining. Chat messages are visible to all participants of that run.

  • Google Cloud - hosts our backend infrastructure (EU region)
  • Apple Push Notification Service - delivers push notifications to iOS devices
  • PostHog - analytics platform (EU hosted)

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Strider, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we need to retain it for legal purposes.

Chat messages are retained for the duration of the run and a reasonable period afterward. Runs that have ended may be archived but remain accessible to participants.
